Dear Everyone,

    It's hard to believe that it has been more than thirty years since we were in the '60s together (Well, not all of us were there, then, were we?). We were inspired to action, then, and it is time to undertake a new project now. A project that offers an opportunity to make a difference in the future. A future of possibility. Thank you for being willing to read Link Our World material.

    Our planet and our society have begun to suffer under the weight of mismanagement by human beings. It is now impossible to further ignore the pending world situation.

    There has never been a time that has offered so much threat and so much promise as Right Now! At this time we understand both the problems that face us and the solutions to the problems of creating a sustainable and just future.

We are on an earth in crisis and it seems that there is not a widely accepted plan to alter the crisis!

    Link Our World is a plan that will be a major contribution to the creation of a secure, sustainable, thriving future for all. It is hard offer this plan until the entire project is completely designed, and in order. However, it seems like everything may never be "in order" and current world conditions have us convinced that we can wait no longer. We must act together now! There are many ways for you to be involved. You can help. Together we can do it!

    Link Our World is a project of The World Peace Organism (WPO) a non-profit corporation with 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS. The WPO began in the late '60s and has had 501 (c) (3) status for nearly a decade.

    In 1970 Quicksilver Messenger Service supported the World Peace Organism (WPO) by playing at a Peace Festival/Conference. In 1971 Congressman, then banker, Fortney 'Pete' Stark joined in an evening round table discussion of "Peace From the Professional Person's Perspective." Others that participated included David Harris, The Institute for the Study of Non-violence, Malachi, Big Brother and the Holding Company, and the San Francisco New Shakespeare Theatre Company. In fact, there were so many others that participated in '71 that the PF/C extended into the third week.

    These people came and participated because they cared enough about the issues of those days to support the efforts of the World Peace Organism in its attempt to bring those issues to the minds and hearts of the Conference/Festival participants. The world was much less fragile then than now! Today it is widely understood that the problems we face as dwellers on Planet Earth are clearly of crisis proportions. We must act together in a peaceful constructive way, now, if we are going to survive.

    It is not possible for the intellectual and educational, or political, legislative, and enforcement processes to work in time, unless they are prodded and stimulated. We must create a popular movement of the people. A popular movement of the heart. The unification of our communities, a feeling of being connected with each other, and the re-vitalization of real and participatory democracy is, now, both required and possible!

    In order to present the Link Our World project the WPO has been revived. It is a 501 (c)(3), tax exempt, non-profit foundation recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service so that donors in the U.S. may deduct contributions they make from their income tax. We have created a plan for Link Our World Community Unification Conference/Festivals that is available to people that want to change the future in the communities where they live. We are beginning to write to people around the world regarding this project. A decade ago a book, The Catalyst - Networking for World Peace in the Home Community, was written in which the methodology is described. To test the processes described in the Catalyst the WPO staff assisted in the production of a local scale Festival/Conference here in Eugene, Oregon during summer '91.
