Planning the Event
What to do
Keep the program action oriented rather than product oriented.
Decide what you want to accomplish.
The purpose is to provide, In a festive atmosphere, a large audience for the socially active groups in your community.
Another purpose is to provide a forum with a common theme everyone can support: PEACE.
IT IS NOT AN INDUSTRIAL OR BUSINESS-ORIENTED EVENT.
BE SURE TO ALLOW BUSINESSES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT BY WAY OF CONTRIBUTION AND TO THANK THEM IN YOUR PROGRAM OR OTHER PUBLICLY DISTRIBUTED INFORMATION.
Note: It is very important to avoid alienating groups of people by not including something of particular interest to them in the program.
Past WPO PF/Cs have included art and craft sales, but only when the actual artist who produces the goods makes the sales. For possible guidelines, see appendix "B".
Be Positive! When you make arrangements think positively. When you ask for help of any kind, explain what you are doing.
It really helps when you are making arrangements to KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO, and then your job is limited to Determining how, and Doing it!
